Huskisson Recreation Reserve shared pathway

We’re building a new shared path at Huskisson Recreation Reserve in Lalor.

This is the first step in delivering the Huskisson Recreation Reserve Master Plan which was endorsed by Council in June 2019.

The plan was developed based on the feedback we’ve received from residents, businesses, schools and community groups. The master plan aims to improve safety, access, parking and on-site facilities at the reserve.

Construction of the 700m shared path will provide a safe pedestrian/cycle link between residential Lalor and the Epping shopping precinct while activating Huskisson Recreation Reserve.

This will be a well-used shared path link and will aid in increasing passive recreation for Lalor/Thomastown residents – a step forward in achieving our Active Whittlesea plan.

Smart City motion sensors will be used to track the increase of participation/activation over time.

The project will be delivered in partnership with the Victorian State Government.

The Victorian State Government contributed $240,000 from the Public Safety Infrastructure Fund. Council are providing $120,000 to the project.
