In-person hearings in AAT Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney registries

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic the AAT has made arrangements to conduct hearings remotely in response to local state and territory restrictions.

The vast majority of hearings in our Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney registries are currently held remotely.

As COVID-19 restrictions in those locations are lifted, we will gradually resume in-person hearings and persona designate functions, prioritising those matters where a remote hearing or process is not preferable.

However, our Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney front counters will remain closed to visitors.

To prioritise the safety of our members, staff and the users of our service, in-person hearings will only proceed in our Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney registries where all parties, representatives and other participants are willing to show evidence of vaccination.

Parties who are approved to attend AAT premises will be advised on the process for providing evidence in advance.

In-person hearings will be managed with a focus on the health and safety of members, staff and users, with a range of COVIDsafe measures in place. Face mask requirements will be in line with local public health orders.
