Inaugural AusMedtechInvest 2024 launched

AusMedtechInvest 2024, Australia’s inaugural boutique medtech investment roundtable forum, will provide a brand new forum to connect capital with innovation, with medical technology (devices and diagnostic) businesses and investors invited to register.

Access to capital remains one of the biggest opportunities for biotech companies in Australia. AusMedtechInvest builds on AusBiotech’s well-established investment attraction programme, and will be held during Australia’s ‘biggest week in medtech’, at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Tuesday 21 May. The intimate half-day programme will feature company presentations, keynote speakers, and informative market updates along with the opportunity of one-to-one investment partnering.

AusBiotech’s investment programme fosters meaningful connections between the investment community and investment-seeking life sciences companies, enabling great ideas to attract risk-tolerant capital while assisting investors to connect with innovative, Australian companies that offer high-value return-on-investment. AusMedtechInvest is designed to create connections that will contribute to the advancement of the sector, foster growth, and drive investment and collaboration in Australia’s life science sector.

Medical technology is a growing sector, with global impact for greater good: as revealed in AusBiotech-commissioned research, the sector is rapidly expanding, with 50 percent growth between 2019 and 2022, for the first time exceeding the number of therapeutic companies developing life-enhancing and life-saving technologies in Australia. Australia’s medtech industry is poised for further growth, with the sector expected to reach a market value of US$7.96 billion this year, with medical devices representing the largest segment, with its market volume expected to also reach US$6.73bn this year.

Globally recognised for its ground-breaking research & development and strong biotech innovation ecosystem, Australian medtech companies have created solutions that have advanced the quality of healthcare, improved patient outcomes, and ultimately saved lives across the world. From the bionic eye to the electronic pacemaker and spray-on artificial skin, Australia’s medtech industry punches above its weight and is today the largest sector within Australia’s life sciences industry.

At AusMedtechInvest 2024, presenting company executives have the opportunity to deliver a ten-minute investment pitch and share the latest company updates to room of risk-tolerant investors looking to invest in breakthrough technologies, while also receiving access to the AusPartnering business matching system for confidential discussions in the networking lounge.

AusMedtechInvest builds on the success of AusBioInvest, AusBiotech’s flagship investment event, and its well-established investment attraction programme that for almost 15 years has helped empower Australian companies to be competitive on a global scale, while connecting Australian life sciences companies with international capital markets, and risk-tolerant investors with investment-seeking life science companies.

Qualified investors are invited to register for a complimentary investor pass. Investors who attend AusMedtechInvest 2024 can also access discounted registration to AusMedtech 2024, underway in Adelaide from 22-23 May.
