Interim Partner Appointed To Deliver TasInsure

Tasmanian Government

RACT has been announced as the interim partner for TasInsure, marking a significant milestone in delivering fairer, cheaper insurance for Tasmanians.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff said the Tasmanian Government will use the weight of the State to address insurance challenges.

“The rising cost of insurance continues to place increasing pressure on the budgets of Tasmanian households and businesses,” Premier Rockliff said.

“While the insurance market is complex, our Government has taken on the challenge because Tasmanians deserve fairer, more affordable insurance options.”

This partnership utilises the expertise of RACT to accelerate the work needed to deliver TasInsure.

This work will also priortise delivering insurance for hard-to-place sectors, including tourism, hospitality and events.

Today’s announcement follows detailed work undertaken by insurance expert, John Trowbridge, and ongoing consultation with tourism, hospitality, agriculture and small business sectors.

It aligns with the feedback received as part of the public TasInsure consultation process, and continues the work of TasInsure’s implementation pathway.

The partnership was formalised with a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Tasmanian Government and RACT.

“This recognises a shared commitment to deliver fairer, cheaper insurance for Tasmanians,” Premier Rockliff said.
