In Western Australia, nurses and midwives make up more than 50 per cent of the health sector workforce. They are a powerful force in addressing rising rates of chronic disease and meeting the demands of primary health care, and their contributions have a clear and positive impact on the delivery of health services across the sector.
Nurses and midwives play a critical role in the delivery of health care to people across their life spans in a range of settings; their work is crucial not only in acute settings, but in research positions and primary care, including aged care and mental health.
In honour of their invaluable contribution, the Department of Health’s Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office have produced new posters (PDF 3MB) to download and print for display in public settings.
