An investigation is underway following a stabbing in the state’s north yesterday.
About 6pm (Sunday 20 September 2026), emergency services were called to a unit on Brown Street, Boggabilla, with reports a man had been stabbed.
Officers attached to New England Police District arrived and found a 20-year-old man with serious stab wounds on his abdomen.
He was assessed by Queensland Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Goondiwindi Hospital in a critical condition.
The man was then airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for surgery, and remains in a stable condition.
Police have established a crime scene at the unit and New England detectives have commenced inquiries into the incident.
