IPART welcomes new Tribunal Member

IPART

The Hon Victor Dominello, Minister for Customer Service, has appointed Sandra Gamble as a member of the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal. Sandra’s appointment is for five years commencing on 9 December 2019.

IPART’s acting Chair, Deborah Cope, said Sandra’s extensive experience in market and regulatory reform, her executive roles in utilities and her engineering background, are a strong preparation for her role on the Tribunal.

“Sandra has a deep knowledge of key work areas for IPART, including energy, water and transport,” Ms Cope said.

“Her professional interests also include empowering consumers in competitive markets, and a commitment to sustainability.”

Ms Cope said Sandra currently sits on the New Zealand Electricity Authority’ Board, and in the past has worked with the COAG Energy Council, Sydney Water, Jemena, and in a range of consulting and project management roles.

Sandra will replace outgoing Tribunal member Ed Willett, who joined IPART in 2014.

Ms Cope thanked Ed for his contribution over five years to regulating prices and standards for essential services in NSW, conducting industry reviews and administering NSW’s Energy Savings Scheme.

“Mr Willett has also been instrumental in helping IPART establish new regulatory frameworks in this period, particularly in our licencing of energy network businesses,” Ms Cope said.

“We thank Ed for the many contributions he has made while at IPART and welcome Sandra to her new role with us.”
