One of the region’s well-known arts and cultural champions is set to bring a rush of colour to Isaac’s premier art space this August.

Coalface Art Gallery will showcase Lynnie Busk’s Going with the Flow: Acrylic Flow Art exhibition with the official opening on Friday, 31 July 2020 and free workshops in August.

Known for her passion for art, family and volunteering, the proud Moranbah artist is ready to exhibit her artworks to the public for the first time.

Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker said shining light on a local person’s achievements is the heart and soul of Coalface Art Gallery.

“Lynnie is a long-time resident of Moranbah with a real passion for the Isaac region,” Mayor Baker said.

“She gives her time generously and embodies the pure people power that energises our region.

“I encourage everyone to visit the gallery during August and enjoy the fusion of colours portrayed in her art.

“This exhibition and the free workshops are part of building vibrant, resilient and diverse communities across the region and this is our Arts and Cultural Action Plan 2018-2022 in full swing.”

Ms Busk, who as a newlywed with her husband Noel settled in Moranbah in 1972, said she found her passion for art in late 2017 and hasn’t looked back.

“I am so hooked on acrylic flow painting as it marries together my passion for colour and my love of creativity. I regularly run classes and have shared my skills with around 200 locals so far,” the 67-year-old mother-of-three and grandmother-of-11 said.

The Going with the Flow: Acrylic Flow Art Exhibition will run from 3 August 2020 to 28 August 2020 at Coalface Art Gallery from Monday to Friday between 8.30am to 5pm.
