Jewellery theft CDB, South Australia

Good work by Police Security Officers and Hindley patrols has led to the arrest of a man over a jewellery theft late last night in the city.

Just after 11pm, Tuesday 11 May, PSSB camera operator saw a man smashing the window of a Rundle Mall jewellery store before grabbing some items. The camera operator alerted patrols who quickly responded and after a short foot chase arrested the man on King William Street.

The 25-year-old man from the Northern Territory was in possession of jewellery stolen from the store.

He was charged with serious criminal trespass, property damage, theft and hinder police.

The man has been refused police bail and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
