Well-known industry leader, Kenneth (Ken) Robert Buckley, has been elected a Life Member of the Caravan and Camping Industry Association of NSW (CCIA NSW) at its Annual General Meeting, held Thursday, 28 October 2021, in recognition of his long and meritorious service.

Ken becomes the 6th Life Member of CCIA NSW – an honour given only to those who have made significant contributions to the success of the caravan and camping industry and the Association over many years.

A member of CCIA NSW since the 1980s, Ken has served on the Board as a Director since 1987, representing and advocating for the interests of its members. For more than 30 years, Ken has worked tirelessly in guiding the industry in a positive direction. In particular, Ken has been pivotal in cementing the industry’s involvement in policy setting for leasing of Crown land in NSW for the operation of caravan parks and camping grounds.

‘I still can’t quite come to grips with being in the same category as industry legends like Norton Whitmont, Bruce Binns, Merv King, Ron Cregan and Max Elsley who have also been awarded CCIA Life Membership before me. My sincere thanks to the members for awardïng me this significant accolade and I look forward to helping drive the continued growth of our industry.

Since 2004, Ken and his wife Rene have owned BIG4 South Durras Holiday Park, transforming it into an award-winning tourist destination. Ken is also the principal and licensee of Caravan Park Brokers NSW (formerly Ken Buckley Brokers), specialising in the sale and leasing of caravan parks, manufactured home estates and trade businesses.

Ken has also held executive positions on the NSW South Coast Tourism Board and Eurobodalla Tourism Board, allowing him to contribute valuable insights into the overall tourism economy in NSW.
