Kids fly free to NT with Nexus

NT Government

The Territory Labor Government through Tourism NT has partnered with Nexus Airlines to provide free flights for children this summer, boosting inbound visitation to the Top End from Broome, Kununurra, Karratha and Port Hedland.

The Kids Fly Free promotion is supported by Tourism NT and Tourism WA and is available on all Nexus routes across Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

The sale dates and travel period are from 15 December 2023 to 14 April 2024 and is valid for both one way and return flight bookings. A child must be aged 2 – 12 years of age and be travelling with a paying adult.

With the sale continuing until after Easter, families will be able to fly affordably together across two school holiday breaks. The offer allows families to have memorable holidays together and to embark on a family adventure in the NT.

In a win-win for the Territory, Territorians will also be able to access the deals with flights from the NT also on sale.

Nexus commenced flying to Darwin from the Kimberley in July of this year.

The sale will be supported by family friendly accommodation and experience packages, bookable through Tourism Top End.

To inspire bookings, the sale will be promoted in Broome and Kununurra across regional newspapers, radio, social media and digital advertising and through media publicity.

Quotes to attribute to Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Joel Bowden:

“The Territory continues to kick goals when it comes to securing flight options for Territorians.

“Off the back of Bonza coming to the Territory and Airnorth adding a new route from Central Australia to Perth, today’s announcement gives Territory families access to more affordable travel options connecting regional Australia and remote centres across WA and the NT.

“Importantly, it also brings visitors to Darwin and the Top End who will spend on accommodation, transport, dining, attractions and tours, driving economic activity and creating job opportunities for Territorians.”

Quotes to attribute to Nexus Airlines Managing Director Michael McConachy:

“Nexus Airlines is very pleased to be providing affordable airfares between Darwin and the Kimberley and this campaign further builds on that by making travel for families even more affordable than ever before.

“By allowing kids to fly for free over summer and into the Easter school holidays Nexus Airlines hopes to connect you and your family to your next NT holiday.

“We are excited to see families from the Pilbara and the Kimberley travel with us up into the NT and are very grateful for the support from the Northern Territory Government on this initiative.”
