Due to the dangerous surf conditions, intense winds and abnormally high tides this weekend, the Kings Beach Pool has been closed until further notice.
The dangerous conditions come as Tropical Cyclone Oma moves south to southwest towards the Queensland Coast.
Although the cyclone has weakened to a category one system overnight, beachgoers are asked to be extremely cautious.
Council will re-evaluate the reopening of Kings Beach pool when the weather conditions have subsided.
