Tasmanian Labor
  • 11,350 senior secondary students receive results
  • TCE results important despite disruptive year
  • Resilience of students and school community on show
  • Labor would like to congratulate the thousands of senior secondary students who have come through the toughest of years in 2020.

Shadow Minister for Education Josh Willie said today marks the culmination of their school careers with 11,350 students receiving their Tasmanian Certificate of Education results.

“On behalf of Tasmanian Labor I would like to acknowledge the efforts of all students, many of whom we know have struggled with the difficult circumstances thrown up by the pandemic.

“Lockdown, home schooling and external assessments have all been incredibly disruptive elements during an already challenging academic year. Added to this has been the uncertainty surrounding end of year presentations and formals.

“The resilience of students, their teachers, families and the entire school community is to be commended and we applaud the amazing job you have all done to navigate such a tough year.

“It’s also important to acknowledge the hard work undertaken by school staff to support students through this time.

“Congratulations, you must all be rightly proud of your achievements this year.”
