Lake Alexander Temporarily Closed

Darwin City Council

City of Darwin wishes to advise that Lake Alexander at East Point Reserve has been temporarily closed today as a precautionary measure.

We received an unconfirmed report of a suspected sighting of a crocodile in the lake.

In the interest of public safety, the lake has been temporarily closed until it can be thoroughly searched by the NT Parks and Wildlife’s Crocodile Management Team.

Signage has been put up around the lake advising of the closure and the public will be advised when the lake is reopened.

In the meantime, the lake is not to be used for any water activities.

City of Darwin apologises for any inconvenience.
