Landholders benefit from landscape management workshop

Landholders in the Western region have benefited from a landscape management workshop where they gained an understanding of the way landscapes function, particularly the Coolibah Black-Box community.

The workshop, which was attended by around 15 people and held on “Bellenbar”, Fords Bridge in May, focused on enhancing the condition and productivity of land through better understanding of ecosystem function and more effective utilisation of available resources.

The session was run by Dr Judi Earl who has extensive experience in how grasslands respond to grazing and fertility management.

Dr Earl spoke about increasing production, providing greater biodiversity, improving the natural resource base and making landscapes more resilient.

Following Dr Earl’s presentation, the group toured ‘Bellenbar” to see the local landscape and hear from Tracey and Dave Hegarty, property owners, while attendees also shared their own knowledge and experience.
