Life-changing program for young farmers and fishers

Young farmers and fishers across NSW have been invited to apply for a life-changing business coaching program run by the NSW Department of Primary Industries’ Young Farmer Business Program (YFBP).

YFBP Team Leader, Alexandra Hicks said it was amazing to see the impact of the life-changing program on participants last year.

“The new 10 month program will give young primary producers the skills they need to run a more productive and profitable business,” Ms Hicks said.

“The power of a coach to generate positive change in a business is truly profound. It gives young farmers and fishers clarity on their direction – and gives them a coach that focuses on them and their business. It is very powerful!”

“Whether you’re just getting started, growing your business or just trying to manage the day-to-day, a business coach can help you get ahead faster than you would on your own.”

Now in its third year, the business coaching program has been expanded from three to five businesses per round. Participants will receive individualised coaching from Richard Groom, who has over 20 years experience working with primary producers.

Anyone aged between 18 and 35 operating a farm, commercial fisheries or aquaculture business where they identify with primary production can apply.
