The Tyabb sporting community will be excited to learn that oval number two is soon to be upgraded with brand new lighting. The installation of Australian standards LED sports lighting will significantly increase the capacity of community sport.

The sports field, located at Bungyan Reserve, has two ovals but only one with lights. This is about to change, as the Shire prepares complete the works in December this year.

With two well-lit ovals the reserve can cater for more training sessions and competitions.

Quotes attributable to Mayor Councillor Steve Holland:

“Upgrading our sports fields is a key priority for Council, and a direct outcome from our Health and Wellbeing Plan: A community with vibrant arts, culture, sport and recreational opportunities that foster connections and participation across generations, backgrounds and abilities.”

Quotes attributable to Watson Ward Cr Kate Roper:

“With the second oval receiving Australian standards lights, Tyabb Sports Field will shine bright! Bunguyan Recreation Reserve is the home of the Tyabb Football Netball Club, Tyabb Junior Football Club and Tyabb Cricket Club. Lights on the second oval will allow the junior and senior teams to play safely on both ovals.”
