Local activation grants now open

After an extensive strategic review of its grants and sponsorship activity, the City of Perth has relaunched its funding program, with the addition of new Local Activation Grants.

The grants, of up to $15,000, will support community events, activations and local businesses within the City.

Projects that activate and encourage people to visit the city, support local business to stimulate economic growth, have widespread appeal and support sustainability considerations, will be eligible for funding.

The City will look for applications that complement and build upon the City’s Signature Events Plan 2021/2022.

City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said the City aimed to provide enriching experiences for all throughout the year.

“We have a vision for Perth to be the events heart of WA – a city that is flourishing, vibrant and thriving,” he said.

“Investment in community events is important in ensuring the cultural enrichment and economic diversity of our city.”

The Local Activation Grants guidelines are available via the City of Perth website.

The strategic review took place over a 12-week period and engaged diverse stakeholders, identifying key areas for enhancement, including aligning program outcomes with the City’s strategic pillars – Liveable, Sustainable and Prosperous.
