Local businesses shine at 2022 Western Australian Export Awards

  • Communications systems specialist AVI named as 2022 Western Australian Exporter of the Year
  • Winners will progress to the Australian Export Awards in November
  • Exports of Western Australia’s goods increased by 28 per cent to $239.5 billion in 2021
  • Myaree-based company, AVI, an exporter of specialised communications systems for some of the world’s largest industries, has been named the 2022 Western Australian Exporter of the Year.

    Now in its 34th year, the WA Export Awards is an annual program that recognises Western Australian companies that have achieved sustainable export growth.

    Winners in 13 categories were presented with awards at a ceremony held last night at Government House.

    The winners in each category will represent Western Australia at Austrade’s Australian Export Awards, which will be held in November.

    AVI was also recognised in the Advanced Technologies category for their state-of-the-art in-house manufacturing facilities and supply chain surety, ensuring reliable delivery to clients internationally.

    As stated by State Development, Jobs and Trade Minister Roger Cook:

    “The Western Australian Export Awards recognise local businesses for the significant contribution they make to both the State and national economies.

    “In 2021, exports of Western Australia’s goods increased by 28 per cent to $239.5 billion, which demonstrates the resilience and success of Western Australian exporters.

    “Congratulations to all of the winners of this year’s Western Australian Export Awards. You are all extraordinary examples of Western Australia’s strength and determination during unprecedented times.”
