Logan libraries deliver “change maker” workshops

Logan libraries deliver

Logan City Council Libraries and Innov8 have partnered to run “change maker” workshops in the City of Logan.

Students in the City of Logan will be inspired to become ‘change makers’ in a series of school-holiday workshops next week.

Participants will learn how to brainstorm a problem, build a business model and present ideas to start their own business or social change movement.

The workshops, being held in City of Logan for the first time, are for local school children aged from six and up as well as parents and carers

Logan City Council Libraries and Innov8 Logan have partnered to deliver the workshops which were developed by Fiftysix Creations, run by Logan entrepreneur Taj Pabari.

The 19-year-old former John Paul College student and 2017 Young Australian of the Year for Queensland founded Fiftysix Creations at the age of 14.

In the past five years the company has worked with more than 50,000 Australian students running school-based workshops teaching about the world of business, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

Logan City Council Libraries are running the following sessions:

* Workshop One: Creating Young Change Makers for children and teens – from 9am to noon on Tuesday, July 9 at Logan Hyperdome Library and from 9am to noon on Thursday, July 11 and Friday, July 12 at Logan Central Library.

* Workshop Two: Inspiring Creative Young People for parents and carers – from 6pm on Tuesday, July 9 at Logan Hyperdome Library and from 4pm on Thursday, July 11 and Friday, July 12 at Logan Central Library.
