Detectives have charged a Lone Wolf outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) member with an outstanding warrant after $1.5 million worth methylamphetamine, $110,000 cash and a handgun were seized in Sydney’s south west.
As part of ongoing targeting and disruption of the illicit activities of criminal networks, police from the Criminal Groups Squad, together with Queensland Police (QPOL), executed a search warrant at a home on Matavai Street, Cobbitty, on Friday 13 March 2020.
During the search, officers seized more than $110,000 cash and a loaded pistol located inside a shoebox, as well as ammunition, two ballistic vests, mobile phones, electronic storage devices and documentation.
Police also seized 4.4kg of methylamphetamine (ice), which has an estimated potential street value of $1.5 million.
Following extensive inquiries, officers arrested a 21-year-old man at Surry Hills Police Station just before 5pm yesterday (Monday 6 April 2020).
The man was charged with an outstanding warrant for supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), possess unregistered firearm, two counts of possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, not keep firearm safely, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
The man, who is a Lone Wolf OMCG member, was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today (Tuesday 7 April 2020).
