Powerball:
Powerball First Division was not won tonight and has rolled over to Saturday night, where the jackpot will be $6 million.
Lotto NZ Chief Executive Jason Delamore said tonight’s draw is one for the history books.
“Tonight’s draw marks a significant milestone for Lotto NZ, as it was the first Powerball draw featuring 14 Powerball numbers,” says Delamore.
“We had a starting jackpot of $5 million, up from $4 million under the previous format.
“It was a memorable moment to see one of the four new Powerball numbers drawn for the first time, with Powerball 11 coming out of the machine.”
“While there was no Powerball First Division winner this evening, 5,720 Powerball players have each won $12 through the new Powerball Division 8 prize – a prize that didn’t exist under the previous 10-ball game,” says Delamore.
He says the new format with 14-balls brings bigger prizes in existing divisions, and more winners, thanks to the addition of the brand-new Powerball Division 8.
However, the odds of winning Powerball Division 1 have lengthened, moving from 1 in 38.4 million per line to 1 in 53.7 million.
Lotto:
Three Lotto players have won $333,333 each with Lotto First Division.
Strike:
Strike Four was not won tonight and has rolled over to Saturday night, where the jackpot will be $400,000.
Lotto Second Division:
Thirteen Lotto players have won $16,074 each with Lotto Second Division.
