Major works are underway at Victoria’s Frankston Railway Station to build a new multi-deck car park with 500 additional spaces – providing better access to rail services for local commuters.
The Australian and Victorian governments are each contributing $43.5 million to the carpark, which will include additional accessible car parks, improved CCTV and lighting, and new secure bike parking facilities.
The upgrade will support public transport usage, improve efficiency and network reliability, and reduce congestion and travel times.
The car park design will integrate with existing local pedestrian, cycling and vehicle connections, and will include additional trees and plants in the area.
The new multi-deck car park is expected to open in late 2024.

“Frankston Railway Station is a major transport hub, with more than 700,000 passenger trips on the line each year.
“As Frankston continues to grow, this new multi-deck carpark will deliver widespread benefits to the community, helping ease congestion on local roads.”

“This new carpark is all part of making it easier for locals to catch the train on the Frankston line which will be level crossing free by 2029.”
