Man arrested after extended follow in stolen car in Hoppers Crossing

A man has been arrested after an extended follow through the Western suburbs in an allegedly stolen vehicle last night.

Police Airwing spotted the Toyota Camry sedan driving at high speeds on Princes Freeway in Hoppers Crossing about 11pm.

The vehicle was tracked to Eaton Parade, Laverton where a passenger jumped out of the car and ground units attempted to approach the vehicle.

The Camry took off, evading police but Airwing continued following the car through Point Cook and Hoppers Crossing.

The male driver allegedly dumped the vehicle in Hoppers Crossing and ran into a Baden Drive home.

The 24-year-old Lara man was located in a rear room and arrested by officers.

He was interviewed by police and is expected to be charged on summons for theft of motor vehicle, drive manner dangerous, conduct endangering serious injury and other driving offences.
