Man arrested over Felixstow taxi robbery, South Australia

A man will appear in court today charged with aggravated robbery after he allegedly assaulted and robbed a taxi driver at Felixstow yesterday morning.

Just after 7am on Sunday 30 December, a taxi driver had just conveyed three people from Gilles Plains to St Margaret Crescent Felixstow, when the three passengers allegedly attacked the male driver, punching him several times to the head and body, before taking off with his wallet and overnight takings.

Eastern District patrols set up cordons in the area, while several homes were searched, but the two men and the women weren’t located.

Last night after Detectives after viewing CCTV vision from the taxi, located and arrested a 23-year-old man from Felixstow at his home address and charged him with aggravated robbery.

He has been refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

Enquiries are continuing on the remain two suspects, a man and a woman who were allegedly in company with the arrested man.

The Taxi driver was not physically injured in the assault.
