A man will face court today charged following an alleged pursuit in a stolen vehicle at Coffs Harbour this morning.
About 6.20am (Friday 12 June 2026), police were called to Cook Drive, Coffs Harbour, following reports a car had been stolen.
At the scene, police were told a Great Wall utility had allegedly been stolen from a carpark.
A short time later, police were called to a home on South Boambee Road, Boambee, following reports of a trespass incident.
At the home, police were told a Great Wall utility had arrived at the property before a man allegedly walked up to the home and stood on the rear porch.
Two dogs at the home approached the man and he allegedly fled the scene in the utility after sustaining bite wounds.
About 6.50am, police were patrolling Stadium Drive, Coffs Harbour, when they attempted to stop a Great Wall utility.
When the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued along Hogbin Drive to Hi-Tech Drive at Toormina where the utility crashed into a fence.
The alleged driver, a 42-year-old man, was arrested a short time later following a brief foot pursuit.
During a search of the man, police allegedly located and seized two multi-tools with knife attachments.
The man was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station where he was charged with five offences,
- Steal motor vehicle
- Police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously
- Break and enter dwelling-house etc with intent (steal)
- Enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, and
- Custody of knife in public place.
The man was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 1 today (Friday 12 June 2026).
