A man has been charged after a number of firearms were located at a property in the state’s west.
Officers attached to Central West Police District commenced an investigation on Wednesday 30 April 2025 following reports of serious domestic violence incidents occurring at a house on Glenwarrie Place, Parkes.
Following inquiries, about 1.40pm, police executed a search warrant at the house.
Police searched the house and located multiple weapons, including several firearms. All weapons were seized by police.
A 28-year-old man was arrested at the location and was taken to Parkes Police Station, where he was charged with 12 offences, including:
- Four counts of possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit
- Two counts of possess unregistered firearm-not pistol/prohibited firearm
- Use unregistered firearm- not pistol/prohibited firearm
- Fire firearm in or near public place
- Possess unregistered firearm- pistol
- Not keep firearm safely-not pistol/prohibited firearm
- Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
- Manufacture prohibited weapon without a permit
He was refused bail to appear before Cowra Local Court today (Thursday 1 May 2025).
