Man charged with drug supply as inquiries under Strike Force Cretney continue, NSW

A man has been charged as part of investigations into drug supply in the state’s south.

In July 2018, officers attached to Wagga Wagga Region Enforcement Squad established Strike Force Cretney to investigate drug supply in the Wagga Wagga and Young areas.

Following inquiries, about 9.50am on Wednesday 16 January 2019, police conducted a vehicle stop on MacLeay Street, Turvey Park, and arrested a 26-year-old man, before he was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

A short time later, police executed a search warrant at a home on Mimosa Drive, Mount Austin.

During the search, officers seized an amount of ammunition, and items believed to be stolen including a chainsaw, credit cards, and identification documents.

The 26-year-old man was charged with drug supply offences, and refused bail to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Thursday 17 January 2019).

Investigations under Strike Force Cretney are continuing.
