Man charged with multiple sexual touching offences – Liverpool

A man has been charged following an investigation into alleged sexual touching incidents spanning more than two decades.

In March 2022, a 66-year-old woman attended a business on Elizabeth Street, Liverpool, where she was allegedly inappropriately touched by a 64-year-old man.

In October 2022, the same man allegedly followed the woman to her car at a shopping centre on Macquarie Street, Liverpool, where he touched her inappropriately.

Later that month (October 2022), the 64-year-old man again allegedly followed the 66-year-old woman to her car and touched her inappropriately at the same shopping centre on Macquarie Street, Liverpool.

On Thursday 29 December 2022, officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation into the incidents.

Following an extensive investigation, police identified three further women who had allegedly been victims of similar offences since 2002 in Liverpool.

About 9.20am today (Wednesday 24 May 2023), police attended a business on Elizabeth Street, Liverpool, and arrested a 64-year-old man who was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with the following offences:

  • Assault with act of indecency – two counts
  • Common assault – three counts
  • Sexually touch another person without consent – three counts
  • Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 14 June 2023.
