Grants and Sponsorship Program round two open – Bringing ideas to life

Community groups, event organisers and local organisations are invited to apply for funding and support through round two of the City of Mount Gambier 2026/2027 Grants and Sponsorships Program, helping bring community-focused projects and events to life.

Applications are now open with the program offering funding and in-kind support for initiatives that strengthen community connections, enhance cultural and recreational opportunities

and contribute to Mount Gambier’s reputation as a vibrant regional destination.

General Manager People, Place and Liveability Chris White said the program continues to deliver tangible benefits for the community through a diverse range of projects and events.

“Round one of the program delivered almost $220,000 in cash funding and more than $18,000 in-kind support to 26 projects and events. We continue to see passionate community groups and volunteers create opportunities for people to connect, celebrate and participate in activities that enrich life in Mount Gambier,” Mr White said.

“Council’s Grants and Sponsorships Program helps bring those ideas to life, supporting projects and events that make a real difference to our community.”

This funding round has been brought forward from February 2027 to November 2026 to allow applications to be assessed and endorsed before the commencement of the Local Government Elections caretaker period.

“To avoid disruption to funding allocations during caretaker, this round is opening earlier than usual and provides applicants with additional time to prepare and submit their proposals. We encourage eligible organisations to explore the available funding opportunities and apply,” Mr White said.
