Temporary toilets at the Concourse to support demolition works

Works on the Beaumaris Concourse Green upgrade continue to progress, with significant milestones now complete, including site preparation, landscaping and civil works. The project is beginning to take shape and will deliver improved public open space, upgraded amenities and enhanced community facilities for the Beaumaris community.

As part of the next stage of the project, the existing public toilet block will be demolished between 9 and 11 November 2026 to make way for new toilet facilities.

The new toilet will be located approximately 20 metres from the existing facility, on the edge of the Green. The current toilet is one of Council’s most heavily used activity centre toilets, but it sits in a busy part of the car park where vehicle movements intersect, and large She-oak trees next to the building prevent it from being expanded. The new location will provide a larger, modern facility that is safer and accessible for people of all abilities, with clearer sightlines and access from accessible parking and pathways.

To ensure the community continues to have access to public amenities during construction, three temporary portable toilets will be installed on the northern corner of Concourse Green prior to demolition commencing. These facilities are expected to remain available until mid-December 2026.

Access to the Concourse car park will be maintained throughout the demolition works, with traffic management measures in place to support safe access for motorists and pedestrians.

We appreciate the community’s patience and support as we move into the final stages of delivering this important community project. We anticipate that construction will be completed before the end of the year.
