A man and woman have been charged over their alleged involvement in the death of a man in the state’s north this morning.
About 2am (Saturday 6 June 2026), emergency services were called to a home on Seaview Crescent, Tweed Heads, following reports a man had been assaulted.
Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District attended and were told a man – aged 34 – had allegedly been assaulted by a man known to him at The Hermitage, Tweed Heads South.
The 34-year-old was then allegedly driven by a woman known to him to a property on Seaview Crescent, where he was left on the driveway.
A short time later, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to the Seaview Crescent property, where they treated the man; however, he died at the scene.
A short time later, police arrested a 31-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman at the home on The Hermitage, Tweed Heads, before taking them to Tweed Heads Police Station.
Crime scenes were established at both locations and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident was commenced.
Following investigations, the man was charged with murder (DV) and the woman was charged with hinder discovery evidence regarding serious indictable offence.
Police will allege in court the woman supplied false information about the assault to officers.
The man was refused bail to face Bail Division Local Court 1 tomorrow (Sunday 7 June 2026).
The woman was granted conditional bail to appear before Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday 29 June 2026.
