Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly man reported missing from Sydney’s Northwest.
Johannes Vanderwel, aged 93, was last seen on Mobbs Lane, Carlingford, about 2.15pm today (Saturday 6 June 2026).
When he could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.
Police and family hold concerns for Johannes’ welfare, as he lives with dementia.
Johannes is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165cm tall, of slim build, with short white hair, moustache and beard.
He was last seen wearing red chequered flannel shirt, a light beige and light green sleeveless vest, black tracksuit pants, and grey sneakers.
He is known to frequent the Carlingford, Epping Parramatta and Westmead areas.
