  • Upgraded 50-metre pool supports the Cook Labor Government’s commitment to improved accessibility, modern infrastructure, and promoting active healthy lifestyles

Beverley’s upgraded 50-metre swimming pool will officially open on Saturday, 31 October, giving residents a refreshed place to cool off, stay active, and connect with their local community this summer following a $3.2 million refurbishment.

Supported by a $667,179 investment from the Cook Labor Government’s Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund, the project has delivered significant upgrades to the much-loved pool, improving accessibility, and extending the life of the facility for years to come.

The investment reflects the Cook Labor Government’s commitment to delivering quality sport and recreation infrastructure across regional Western Australia, ensuring country communities have access to modern, accessible facilities close to home.

The project is part of the Cook Labor Government’s PlayOn WA, an exciting initiative to deliver 2,030 community infrastructure items across WA by 2030.

Constructed more than 50 years ago, the pool had reached the end of its service life.

Upgrades now include the conversion of the pool to a modern wet-deck system, refurbishment of structural components, and an improved filtration infrastructure.

New ramp and stair access will provide easier entry and exit for swimmers, while renewed concourse paving and landscaping have refreshed the pool area.

The project has been delivered with investment from the Shire of Beverley and contribution from the Beverley Amateur Swimming Club, ensuring the pool can continue to provide swimming and recreation opportunities for the local community.

To celebrate the official opening and the start of the summer swimming season, a Mega Splash Pool Party will take place today, Saturday, 31 October. Gates open to the public at 12pm, with large pool inflatables, a free sausage sizzle, fairy floss, and popcorn.

As stated by Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti:

“Beverley Swimming Pool has been part of the community for more than 50 years, and it’s fantastic to see the upgraded facility ready to welcome locals ahead of summer.

“Local pools hold a special place in our regional communities, helping children learn essential life-saving skills and giving people a place to stay active, healthy and connected.

“The Cook Labor Government is proud to support projects like this, investing in quality facilities that bring people together to create a sense of community.”

As stated by Sandra Carr MLC:

“This is an exciting milestone for the Beverley community, with years of planning and hard work bringing this major pool upgrade to life.

“What better way to celebrate than with a pool party to kick off the summer swimming season. I’m sure there will be plenty of locals keen to make the most of their upgraded pool.”
