Man dies after stabbing at Griffith, NSW

A man has died following a stabbing in the state’s Riverina region overnight.

About 2.30am (Friday 11 September 2020), emergency services were called to Sams Place, Griffith, after receiving reports of a concern for welfare.

Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District attended and found a man unconscious in a vehicle, suffering stab wounds.

The man, believed to be aged in his 20s, was declared deceased. He is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene has been established, which is being examined by specialist forensic police.

Detectives from Murrumbidgee Police District, with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, have established Strike Force Brobenah to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, which is being treated as suspicious.
