Man dies after two-truck crash – Murrumbidgee

A man has died following a two-vehicle truck crash in the state’s south.

About 10.30pm on Friday 1 December 2023, emergency services responded to reports of a crash on the Sturt Highway, near Kidman Way, Darlington Point, about 40kms south of Griffith.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District attended and found two trucks had collided head on with the drivers of both vehicles trapped.

Police rendered assistance to a 48-year-old man before NSW Ambulance paramedics attended; however, he died at the scene.

A 28-year-old man was treated at the scene before being taken to Griffith Base Hospital in a stable condition.

Police established a crime scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
