Man facing deception offences extradited back to Melbourne

Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives have extradited an alleged scammer after he was located at Sydney Airport this week.

The 27-year-old Clarinda man was originally arrested and charged with two counts of obtaining property by deception in October this year.

The charges relate to alleged incidents where two people gave in the vicinity of $50,000 to a person claiming to be from the Australian Federal Police.

The Clarinda man was on bail when he was arrested at the international terminal of Sydney Airport on 17 November.

He was extradited back to Victoria today, charged with further a further offence of breaching bail and will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.
