A man will face court today after allegedly wielding a knife and threating officers at a police station in Sydney’s south west.
About 9.20am yesterday (Monday 27 July 2020), the man entered the front foyer of Liverpool Police Station and approached the front counter, allegedly armed with a knife.
It’s alleged the armed man began banging on the screen at the counter and yelling at officers.
Police attempted to speak to the man; however, he refused to comply and a taser was deployed.
The 24-year-old was arrested and taken to the custody area, before NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and he was taken to hospital for assessment.
Two members of the public were in the station at the time of the incident. They were not injured.
The man was later released from hospital and taken back to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with armed with intent to commit indictable offence, intimidation, intimidate police in execution of duty (x3), malicious damage, custody of a knife in a public place and wield knife in a public place.
The Lurnea man was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Tuesday 28 July 2020).
