A man is due in court today charged over an alleged assault at Manly which resulted in a man suffering critical head injuries.
Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command were called to The Corso about 3am (Saturday 27 January 2024), and found a 37-year-old man suffering a head injury.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene was established and detectives formed Strike Force Ditchfield to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, detectives arrested a 24-year-old man in Parkview Road, Fairlight, about 5.40pm yesterday (Sunday 28 January 2024).
The man was taken to Manly Police Station where he has now been charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He’s been refused bail overnight by police to appear before Manly Local Court later today (Monday 29 January 2024).
