A man will re-appear in court today charged over the alleged historical sexual assault of three girls in Sydney’s south west.
In June 2019, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports three girls were sexually abused by a man, who was known to them, between 1989 and 2012.
Following extensive investigations, a 57-year-old man was arrested following a vehicle stop at Buxton, just after 5am yesterday (Thursday 3 October 2019).
The man was taken to Narellan Police Station where he was charged with two counts of sex assault-indecent assault victim under the age of 16 and under authority, and four counts of aggravated sex assault victim under the age of 16.
Police will allege in court that the girls – then aged nine, 10 and 11 – were in the man’s care at the time of the offences.
The man appeared at Campbelltown Local Court yesterday, where he was formally refused bail to re-appear at the same court today (Friday 4 October 2019).
The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
