Man in court over sexual act in Allawah

A man is due to reappear in court today charged over allegedly committing a sexual act in front of a teenager in Sydney’s south.

About 10am on Wednesday 18 March 2020, an 18-year-old woman walked from Allawah Railway Station towards Woids Avenue, Allawah, for a job interview.

She met a man and was instructed to get in a nearby vehicle before he allegedly began to commit an act of indecency.

The woman managed to get out and run back towards Allawah Railway Station, before contacting police.

Officers from the Police Transport and Safety Command commenced an investigation.

Following extensive inquiries, investigators arrested a 25-year-old man at a home in Hurstville about 2.30pm on Friday 24 April 2020.

He was taken to Kogarah Police Station, where he was charged with carry out sexual act with another without consent.

Police will allege in court that the man created a fake social media account and had arranged to meet with the woman after pretending to offer her employment.

The Nepalese National was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Local Court on Saturday 25 April 2020, where he was formally refused bail to appear before Central Local Court today (Friday 8 May 2020).
