A man was hospitalised, and a police officer was spat on after they were called to a charter boat on Sydney Harbour overnight.
About 8pm (Sunday 19 January 2020), emergency services received a report that a man was unconscious on board a charter boat on Sydney Harbour.
The captain was directed to dock the vessel at a nearby wharf in Athol Bay, where the man was able to receive medical attention.
Officers attached to Marine Area Command attended and administered first aid to a 28-year-old man until
NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and stabilized him. He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
Shortly after police boarded the vessel they were informed by security about a 28-year-old man allegedly urinating on a table on the main deck.
Security ejected the man and he was arrested by police, where it is alleged he spat on one of the officers. He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital and has since been released. He will be issued with a Future Court Attendance notice for offensive behaviour, and assault police.
The charter boat was escorted to King Street Wharf and the remaining passengers disembarked without incident, and an inspection of the vessel was undertaken.
