Police and emergency services responded after a man was located with injuries in St Kilda East overnight.
It is understood the man was located by residents at a Tantram Avenue property who contacted emergency services about 1.50am.
He was located with what appear to be a number of stab wounds to his upper body.
The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding how he became injured remains ongoing.
