ZURICH, November 5, 2026 – Amcor (NYSE: AMCR, ASX: AMC), a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions, has launched the Moderna Flip Top tamper-evident (TE) closure. This innovation offers a versatile and more sustainable closure for vinegar, sauces and dressings.
Designed to meet growing consumer expectations for both convenience and improved sustainability, the Moderna features a recycle-ready mono-material one-piece construction, which can be recycled where appropriate collection facilities exist. In addition, its lightweight design helps companies comply with plastic packaging regulations by reducing material usage.
For consumers, the Moderna provides controlled pouring or dispensing of products. The closure is designed for a 29/21 neck finish and is available in a variety of orifice sizes sizes (2 mm, 6 mm and multi-orifice).
The inclusion of the TE system enhances product safety and integrity, with a visible seal that confirms the product has not been previously opened. This safety feature is seamlessly integrated within the flip-top lid, allowing easy one-handed actuation, and the TE tab is captured within the closure body after opening – reducing the risk that it is lost in the waste stream or spilt into the environment. With a snap-on application, the Moderna ensures a secure seal and simple integration with PET bottles.
The bore seal safeguards product freshness, and the closure is available in a range of standard colors, enabling brands to customize the design to meet their specific branding requirements.
Matthias Hammersen, vice-president sales, Amcor Global Rigids Packaging Solutions, commented: “With the Moderna Flip Top TE closure, we’ve created a lightweight design that combines functionality, customer convenience and recycle-readiness, supporting the circular economy while providing improved usability for a wide range of applications.”
