Man stabbed in Bankstown

Investigations are underway after a man was stabbed in Sydney’s south-west today.

Shortly after 3pm (Monday 14 January 2019), emergency services were called to Canterbury Road, near Calidore Street, Bankstown, following reports a man was injured.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended and found a 30-year-old man with a puncture wound to his chest.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Police believe the man was stabbed at an unknown location.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information is urged to come forward.
