Man stabbed multiple times during domestic dispute at Wilcannia, NSW

One man has been stabbed and a second is due in court today, following an alleged domestic violence-related dispute in the state’s north-west overnight.

It is alleged a 35-year-old man was at a home in Wilcannia about 8.10pm yesterday (Monday 15 July 2019), when he stabbed a 43-year-old man multiple times to the back and upper body.

Emergency services arrived a short time later and treated the man for eight stab wounds.

He was taken to Wilcannia Hospital, before being flown to Royal Adelaide Hospital by Rural Flying Doctor Service in a non-life-threatening condition.

The younger man was arrested at the scene and taken to Wilcannia Police Station where he was charged with cause wounding, grievous bodily harm with intent to murder, and wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear before Broken Hill Local Court today (Tuesday 16 July 2019).
