Man threatened at Malvern Post Office

Police are appealing for help to identify a man after threats were made against a member of the public in Malvern.

It is believed a man entered a post office on Glenferrie Road about 4.30pm on 13 August.

He attempted to return a damaged mobile phone, before verbally abusing staff for about 15 minutes when they wouldn’t allow him to return it.

A member of the public intervened and asked the man to move on, but the victim was then threatened with serious injury.

The offender was escorted from the store and waited outside for a further 15 minutes before leaving, while the victim left safely through a back exit.

He’s perceived to be Caucasian, in his early 40’s, about 180cm tall, with a medium build and thin, dark brown hair.

He was wearing a black t-shirt, black jeans, a black face mask and a black baseball cap.
