Maroondah Leisure welcomes back lap swimmers to Croydon Memorial Pool

Council is excited to welcome back swimmers to Croydon Memorial Pool, which is now open for lap swimming through until Sunday 3 April 2022.

The earlier-than-usual opening of the seasonal pool comes as restrictions on outdoor activities were further relaxed in line with the Victorian Government’s phased roadmap.

The 50-metre outdoor pool opened to the public on Wednesday 27 October, three weeks ahead of its typical season opening in mid-November.

Visitors will need to provide their COVID-19 Digital Certificate of proof or medical exemption as per the current Victorian Government public health advice.

Built in 1962, Croydon Memorial Pool is Maroondah’s iconic outdoor heated pool and is a favourite summer playground for swimmers of all ages. The pool is heated to a warm 26 degrees – a great option for early morning lap swimming and weekend aqua fun.

Councillor Cr Kylie Spears said all Maroondah Leisure facilities were now open.

“It has been a long and challenging few months for everyone, but we are really pleased to be able to deliver this first step in our re-opening.

“It is so exciting to see people back in our facilities enjoying the pool, gym and group classes,” Cr Spears said.

All visitors to Council facilities must sign in using the Services Victoria QR code system. Please ensure your COVID-19 Digital Certificate is linked to your Service Victoria app prior to arrival, as this will need to be shown upon entry.
