Matilda’s waltz onto big screens across Territory

Darwin Waterfront will be awash in green and gold tomorrow night with the FIFA Women’s World Cup semi-final between Australia’s Matildas and England’s Lionesses to be played live on the big screen.

Everyone’s invited to pack a picnic blanket and get to Darwin Waterfront from 6pm for kick off at 7:30 pm across multiple screens.

Crowds of up to 3,000 people are expected to show their support for the Matildas at the live site with football fun and games for the little ones that will ensure a great family night out.

People in Central Australia can also get involved with live sites in Alice Springs at Ross Park Soccer Oval in East Side NT from 6:30 pm to 10pm and at the Scorpions FC Gillen Club on Miller Street.

Alice Springs community will have pre-game entertainment with a barbecue and activities for kids available to enjoy before the game.

Iconic landmarks across Darwin’s CBD will light up in the green and gold with the Darwin Convention Centre and Parliament House all showing their support of our Australian heroes in their first FIFA Women’s World Cup semi-final.

The Darwin Festival is also getting in on the historic celebrations with opportunities for people to watch the match from festival venues around Darwin.

The event is a partnership between the Northern Territory Government, Football NT and Darwin Waterfront Corporation.
