There are now more reasons than ever for Territory Eels fans to get excited, with Parramatta Eels players past and present set to make star appearances in the Red Centre and Top End.

As part of their partnership with the Territory Labor Government, delivered through Northern Territory Major Events Company, the ‘Territory’ Eels will carry out a number of community initiatives while in the Territory.

Eels legends will start the week in Alice Springs, where they will take part in school visits, including at Ntaria (Hermannsburg), and hold a come-and-try event at Anzac Oval from 4.30pm on Monday, 17 April.

Eels fans in Darwin can meet their present Eels heroes at a player signing at Darwin Waterfront on Tuesday, 18 April from 5.15pm in the lead up to their clash with the Brisbane Broncos on Friday, 21 April.

In addition, the Eels Captain’s Run will take place at TIO Stadium on Wednesday, 19 April from 7pm-8.30pm, and there is room for a limited number of fans to head along to watch, free of charge. Details on how to apply will be emailed to all ticketholders to the game.

Quotes from Minister for Major Events, Paul Kirby:

“It’s always an exciting time when the players arrive in town ahead of a big game, but the benefits reach much further than what happens on the pitch on Friday night.

“With Eels players and crew taking part in a number of community initiatives in the Red Centre and Top End, there are more chances than ever for fans and up-and-coming players to get exposure to some of the best in the game, and introduce new audiences to the value of sport, and what it can do for a community.”

Quotes from Eels Captain Clint Gutherson:

“Our team really enjoys taking part in the community initiatives and we love meeting the locals. We’re hoping to see plenty of supporters come along to the signing session, and we’re pleased fans will be able to come and catch all the action at the Captain’s Run too.”
